Billy Joel has announced a postponement of several of his tour dates to prioritise recovery following a recent surgery. The renowned musician made the announcement via his Instagram, revealing that he will be taking a four-month hiatus to undergo physical therapy under medical supervision.

In his statement, Joel expressed regret about delaying shows but emphasised the importance of his health. He conveyed his eagerness to return to the stage and reconnect with fans, thanking them for their understanding during this time.

The “Piano Man” singer has postponed a total of eight shows, with the rescheduled performances now set to take place from November to July 2026. Ticket holders can expect their purchases to be honoured for the new dates. The tour is currently scheduled to restart on July 5 at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.

Recently, during a performance at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena, Joel experienced a fall while singing “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me,” but quickly recovered and continued his performance. This incident likely raised concerns about his health, prompting the decision to focus on recovery.

His next concert was initially slated for March 15 in Toronto at Rogers Centre, which has now been pushed back to March 14, 2026. Notably, both Sting and Stevie Nicks are expected to join Joel for some of these rescheduled performances.

While specific details regarding his medical condition have not been disclosed, it has been indicated that Joel is expected to make a full recovery. As fans await the resumption of the tour, they remain supportive of the artist’s need to prioritise his well-being.
