Since January 17, Amazon’s stock has experienced a decline of 14%, as reported by Bloomberg. This downturn has cost Jeff Bezos a staggering $46 billion (approximately $29 billion USD). However, his financial setbacks extend beyond just stock losses. Last month, Bezos attended a dinner with the President of the United States and, shortly after, he announced a significant change in the Washington Post’s editorial direction. The paper will now focus on personal liberties and free market views in its opinion section, signalling a departure from its previous broad opinion coverage. This shift led to the resignation of a seasoned columnist who had been with the Washington Post for 40 years.
