Jenkins had minimal knowledge of Panjoy’s history, and it was only through an unexpected turn of events that her family discovered her fate. During a 2005 television interview, Jenkins presented a photo of himself and his wife taken on a beach in North Korea. To his surprise, Panjoy’s brother spotted her in the background of the photograph.
Despite the revelation, North Korea has consistently denied any involvement in Panjoy’s abduction and has not provided any details regarding her wellbeing. Consequently, the question of her survival remains unanswered.
