Avalon Airport Placed on Lockdown Following Alleged Attempt by Man to Board Plane with Firearm

Avalon Airport in Geelong, Victoria, was placed on lockdown after a man allegedly attempted to board a Jetstar flight to Sydney while reportedly armed with a firearm.

Authorities were alerted to the situation around 2:50 PM, leading to a swift response from police who detained the individual before he could board the aircraft. The man has since been taken into custody, and fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

As a precautionary measure, Avalon Airport remains shut, with access restricted for both entry and exit. An investigation by local police is currently underway to determine the specifics of the incident.
