Mohamed Rifai, age 28, is facing serious charges of assault, which could lead to a maximum sentence of five years imprisonment if he is convicted. The allegations presented by the prosecutor state that during an incident in February, Rifai allegedly punched a security guard, rendering him unconscious after he was removed from the Finns Beach Club located in North Kuta. In his defence, Rifai asserts that his actions were a response to a situation where he felt threatened. He is scheduled to return to court next week to continue proceedings in this case.
