Artificial Intelligence (AI) is set to revolutionise the takeaway experience in Adelaide, with the introduction of an innovative voice ordering platform. Amalfi Pizzeria, a well-established eatery in the city, is among the pioneers to adopt this AI-powered system, known as DineLine, aimed at streamlining phone orders during peak times.

Co-owner Frank Hannon-Tan expressed the challenges they face, noting, “We receive a high volume of phone orders, particularly when we are busy.” This new technology offers a solution by enabling customers to place orders via a simple phone call. The AI handles the ordering process, mimicking a human interaction by learning customer preferences, including names.

The system not only supports multiple languages but also allows the option to send a digital menu directly to the customer’s mobile device, enhancing their ordering experience further. DineLine is designed to accommodate over 100,000 restaurants globally and integrates seamlessly with various delivery providers.

Mark Fortunatow, co-founder of DineLine, highlighted the significance of this advancement, stating, “This is absolutely at the forefront… we believe it’s the first in the restaurant industry.” With the potential for efficient service, it’s expected that restaurants with a strong takeaway focus will readily adopt this technology.

This AI-driven initiative marks a significant step forward in the world of dining, offering a modern solution to traditional order-taking methods while maintaining a personal touch.
