Australian bobsledder Bree Walker made history by sharing the gold medal at the monobob World Cup in Lillehammer, Norway, alongside American competitor Kaysha Love. This remarkable event marks the first time in the World Cup’s history that two athletes have jointly clinched the top spot. After two runs each, both Walker and Love finished with identical times of 1:49.14. Walker’s individual runs were clocked at 54.56 and 54.58 seconds, while Love’s times were 54.62 and 54.52 seconds.

This gold marks Walker’s first victory of the season and the second of her career, celebrated amidst heartwarming scenes as the two athletes embraced in joy. Expressing her delight, Walker shared, “I was feeling really good coming into this race… I just went out there and focused on pushing really fast and driving well.”

Having previously secured fifth place in monobob at the Beijing 2022 Olympics, Walker is now setting her sights on the upcoming Milano-Cortina Olympics, scheduled for February next year. The anticipation builds as she aims to continue her successful journey in the sport.
