Arson detectives are probing a suspicious fire that occurred in the southwest of Sydney. The incident took place around midnight on Greenacre Road in Greenacre, where firefighters and New South Wales Police were summoned to tackle the blaze.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a granny flat at the rear of the residence engulfed in flames. Fortunately, the property was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Fire and Rescue NSW managed to extinguish the flames without any reported injuries.
Authorities have since set up a crime scene, indicating that they suspect the fire was deliberately started. Police are appealing for anyone with pertinent information to reach out to Crime Stoppers.
