A tragic midair collision over the Potomac River has claimed the lives of all 67 individuals onboard, comprising three soldiers from a Black Hawk helicopter, four crew members, and 60 passengers on an American Airlines flight. The Army has identified the three soldiers, including Captain Rebecca Lobach, 28, who was praised by her family for her kindness and commitment to service. Lobach also served as a White House Military Social Aide.

The two pilots of the flight were also killed; First Officer Samuel Lilley, 28, was engaged to marry in autumn, while the captain, Jonathan Campos, had been promoted to captain of American Airlines just last year. Among the passengers were several young figure skaters returning from a championship event, including 16-year-old Spencer Lane. The incident involved additional victims, such as four steamfitters and various members of the local community.

Family members shared heartfelt tributes, highlighting the lost lives’ contributions and the profound grief experienced by those affected. As investigations continue, calls for support have arisen to help families endure this devastating loss.
