A father is currently being sought by authorities after he abruptly exited a vehicle with his three children and fled the scene of a collision in Menai, a suburb in Sydney’s south. The incident occurred when a Mitsubishi ute collided with a Mazda sedan, causing the ute to overturn. The sound of the crash was heard by many in the vicinity, prompting witnesses to rush to the aid of a 43-year-old woman who was trapped in the Mazda.
Emergency services soon arrived to take over from bystanders, who had attempted to assist the woman. Eyewitness Vahid Tabakol recounted seeing the father and his children leave the ute just moments after the accident and walking away from the wreckage. Another local, Joy Zaher, described the distressing scene, noting the woman’s cries for help as the father absconded with his children.
Residents expressed concern for the children, fearing they may have sustained head injuries and required medical attention. Thankfully, the driver of the Mazda only suffered minor injuries in the crash. Despite the ongoing search, the father remains at large as police efforts continue to locate him.
