Nick Cummins, fondly known as the Honey Badger, returned to Perth’s HBF Park to celebrate the Western Force’s 20th anniversary, a significant event that was somewhat overshadowed by the ACT Brumbies’ 33-14 victory, which dampened the Force’s Super Rugby Pacific finals aspirations. Despite the disappointment, Cummins was in high spirits as he was interviewed by former teammate Cameron Shepherd for Stan Sport.

Reflecting on his memories from his time with the Force, Cummins expressed a nostalgic connection to the turf and the familiar scents associated with game day, bringing back intense feelings of responsibility and camaraderie. He reminisced about the thrill of the warm-ups and the desire to step back onto the field, saying he was ready for “two hit-ups” before swinging the ball wide.

Among his cherished memories, Cummins highlighted a 2014 match where he scored a hat-trick against the star-studded NSW Waratahs, humorously noting the disparity in team budgets yet celebrating their underdog victory. He also praised James Stannard, the current assistant coach, as the standout from the reunion of club legends, acknowledging him as a significant influence both on and off the field.

Commemorating the anniversary, the evening was filled with reminiscing and laughter, showcasing the enduring spirit of the Western Force and the bonds formed over years of rugby.
