Ally Langdon has received her first nomination for the Gold Logie at the upcoming 65th TV WEEK Logie Awards, where Nine has amassed over 30 nominations, marking a historic year with a significant number of female nominees. Langdon, known for hosting A Current Affair and Parental Guidance, now stands alongside Hamish Blake, the sole male nominee for this prestigious award.
Blake, who has been nominated five times and won the Gold Logie twice—first in 2012 and again in 2022—is also in the running for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter, facing competition from Todd Woodbridge, host of Tipping Point Australia.
In the category for the Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Presenter, Langdon is competing against notable figures such as 9News presenter Peter Overton and 60 Minutes presenter Tara Brown. Both A Current Affair and 60 Minutes are contenders for Best Current Affairs Program, while Nine has received multiple nominations for Best Sports Coverage, including accolades for the 2024 State of Origin, the 2025 Australian Open Finals, and the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Additionally, Nine has secured two nominations for Best News Coverage or Public Affairs Report, recognising 60 Minutes’ report titled Building Bad and A Current Affair’s Courage & Science. The network also received nods in the Best Factual or Documentary category for Big Miracles, Tsunami: 20 Years On, and Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story.
Amanda Laing, managing director at Nine, expressed pride in the diverse nominations, highlighting the company’s commitment to showcasing a range of stories that resonate with Australian audiences. She stated, "At Nine, we don’t just reflect the national conversation—we help lead it."
The Logie Awards, set to take place in Sydney on August 3, 2025, celebrate excellence in Australian television. Langdon is a finalist not only for the Gold Logie but also for the Ray Martin award, showcasing her impact on the industry. Meanwhile, Blake’s significant history at the event adds a familiar face to the competition.
As the industry continues to evolve, these nominations reflect a growing appreciation for both established and emerging talent, emphasising the importance of storytelling that resonates with viewers across various platforms in Australia.
