A police officer, Beaumont Lamarre-Condon, is set to face court on June 17, 2024, after being charged with the murders of television presenter Jesse Baird, 26, and Qantas flight attendant Luke Davies, 29. The pair went missing in February 2024, and Lamarre-Condon is accused of fatally shooting them before concealing their bodies in surfboard bags and disposing of them at a rural property in Bungonia, near Goulburn in New South Wales.

Lamarre-Condon has been held in custody for over a year, during which he has faced allegations of engaging in months-long predatory behaviour towards Baird, who previously dated him before his relationship with Davies. Court proceedings resumed recently, with discussions between prosecutors and Lamarre-Condon’s defence counsel indicating that the case is moving forward. A forensic psychiatric evaluation of the accused was also presented to the court.

In addition to the murder charges, Lamarre-Condon faces a count of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence. He was dismissed from the NSW Police Force in March 2024, shortly after the alleged crimes. Before his police career, he was known for running a celebrity blog and had connections with numerous high-profile figures.

The remains of Baird and Davies were discovered by police, bringing the investigation to a crucial point. While no pleas have yet been entered by Lamarre-Condon, he is expected to appear at the next court session through an audiovisual link.
