Sevu Reece, the All Blacks winger, made history by breaking the Super Rugby career try-scoring record, reaching an impressive total of 66 tries. This milestone was achieved during the Crusaders’ match against the Highlanders in Christchurch, when he scored in the 14th minute by simply grounding the ball at the base of a ruck—a goal that, while less dramatic than many of his past performances, solidified his place in the record books.

The record-breaking try allowed the 28-year-old Fijian to surpass former teammate TJ Perenara, who recently moved to Japan and is unlikely to increase his tally further. Among the top five Super Rugby try-scorers, only Julian Savea from Moana Pasifika, with 63 tries, remains actively competing in the league.

Reece’s journey in Super Rugby began at the Chiefs in 2016, but he has become a standout player for the Crusaders over the last six years, amassing not only his record number of tries but also contributing 18 tries in 32 tests for New Zealand’s national team.

As Reece continues to shine on the field, rugby fans can look forward to more highlights from the Super Rugby season, alongside upcoming events like the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia, which will be available to stream on Stan Sport.
