Search operations are currently underway for the missing teenager, Pheobe Bishop, with emergency teams conducting intensive land, water, and aerial searches in a bushland area. Fire and Rescue teams are deploying a drone over the Good Scrub National Park, located near Gin Gin, which is about an hour from where Pheobe was last seen.

The Queensland State Emergency Service is actively combing through the bushlands, while police divers are inspecting the park’s waterways. Recently, police announced a potential breakthrough in the case, revealing that an item of interest was found within the national park. Detective Acting Inspector Ryan Thompson indicated that the police diving squad assisted in searching a nearby creek and that extensive searches are being carried out in hopes of uncovering evidence related to Pheobe’s disappearance.

Despite the discovery of the item, authorities have not confirmed its connection to the case. At present, there are no specific suspects, but police are diligently exploring all avenues of investigation. The homicide squad is also involved in the search efforts, though officials maintain hope that Pheobe may still be alive.

Pheobe was last seen by her housemates on Thursday, May 15, when they dropped her outside the Bundaberg Regional Airport at 8:30 AM. She had a booked flight to Western Australia, with a transfer in Brisbane, to visit her boyfriend. However, she did not check in for her flight or enter the terminal, and there has been no confirmed sighting of her or her luggage since that time.

As the search continues, the community remains hopeful for Pheobe’s safe return.
