Australian teenage athletics star Gout Gout faced challenging conditions during his sprinting events at the Queensland athletics championships in Brisbane. Competing in the under-20 category for the 100m, Gout recorded times of 10.39 seconds in the heats and 10.38 seconds in the final. These results, though commendable, were hampered by adverse weather, including a headwind of 1.3 metres per second in the heats and 1.4 in the final, coupled with a wet track due to recent rain.

Despite these hurdles, the 17-year-old athlete is gearing up for his preferred event, the 200m, which he will compete in just a day later. In the 100m final, Gout secured second place, while Michael Alofokhai came in third with a time of 10.81 seconds and Heath Smallacombe finished close behind at 11.04 seconds.

With his resilience and talent, Gout is expected to shine in the upcoming 200m race, continuing to build on his promising career in athletics. Keep an eye on this young talent as he strives for excellence on the track.
