Golf fans gathered eagerly to meet LIV Golf players at fan events, even as temperatures soared to 43 degrees Celsius. This year’s event is set to be the largest yet, attracting an expected crowd of 100,000 from Thursday onwards. Junior golfers engaged with their favourite professionals during a dedicated clinic, while the pros fine-tuned their games on the course.

Excitement peaked as spectators hoped to witness a hole-in-one on the 14th hole, which would win a lucky fan a brand-new car—an achievement last accomplished by Chase Koepka two years ago. His brother, Brooks Koepka, joked about Chase’s self-styled title as the “mayor of Adelaide.”

The event’s appeal has been broadened with enhanced grandstands, extra screens, and family-friendly activities, including a petting zoo and kids’ DJ. However, there are concerns regarding South Australia’s ability to maintain this prestigious event, with Premier Peter Malinauskas highlighting a pattern of other regions poaching successful events that began in South Australia.

In contrast, LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil expressed satisfaction with Adelaide, praising its world-class facilities, vibrant dining options, and hospitality. He expressed hope for a long-term partnership with the region, making it a focal point for future events.
