An Adelaide teacher, Abby Lee Violi, has appeared in court facing serious charges related to child sex offences. The 25-year-old is accused of committing aggravated acts, including indecently assaulting a person, inciting a child to engage in an act, and attempting to make a child amenable to sexual activity. These alleged offences reportedly occurred over a two-month period in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, specifically within Campbelltown and Salisbury.
While it remains uncertain whether the alleged victim was among Violi’s students, court documents indicate that she is accused of misusing her authority over someone under 18 years of age. The charges were officially brought against her in April, although her identity has only now been disclosed following her first court appearance.
In response to the situation, schools where Violi has previously worked are actively communicating with parents and staff about the ongoing matter. Currently, Violi is out on bail and is scheduled to return to court in January for further proceedings.
