The South Australian government is investing $70 million in a new primary school and preschool for the rapidly growing northern suburbs of Adelaide, with plans for completion by 2030. The facility will cater to 400 primary students and 60 preschoolers, although the specific location within the northern suburbs is yet to be determined. Education Minister Blair Boyer noted the exceptional growth in this region and affirmed the government’s commitment to addressing educational needs.
In addition to the new institution, there is a further investment of $40 million aimed at upgrading heating and cooling systems across existing public schools. Henley Beach Primary School is anticipated to be one of the first beneficiaries, receiving funding as part of a broader plan to allocate $10 million annually over four years.
Minister Boyer emphasised the importance of placing the new school in a location that is accessible and convenient for the surrounding community. This initiative reflects the government’s proactive approach to accommodate the increasing population and ensure that educational facilities meet local demands.
