Adelaide Oval has revealed updates to its food and beverage pricing for the upcoming 2025 AFL season. In an effort to provide more economical options for families attending day games, the venue has partnered with Vili’s to offer discounted pies. However, the cost of other items, particularly alcoholic beverages and hot chips, has seen an increase.
The restructured kiosk menu now presents Vili’s pies at a lower price point, appealing to families looking for affordable meal choices during matches. Conversely, the price of a full-strength beer will rise to $10.90, up from $9.90 last year, while the cost of wine will jump by $1.50 to $10.50. Additionally, bottled water has increased by 30 cents, now costing $5.70, and hot chips have also seen a price hike of 25 cents, bringing them to $6.95. Notably, hot chips at Adelaide Oval are now significantly more expensive—40% higher—than similar fare at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium.
Despite these rises, Adelaide Oval claims it still offers the lowest price for full-strength beer among major stadiums nationwide. The management attributes these increases to inflation and is hopeful that patrons will appreciate the circumstances behind the changes. Nick Addison, the Oval’s chief executive, expressed empathy for fans, acknowledging that they too are facing financial pressures. He noted that the venue continuously explores ways to keep prices as reasonable as possible for its visitors.
Overall, while the introduction of affordable pie options marks a positive step for families, the trend of increasing prices for popular items poses a challenge for many attendees.
