Brisbane Broncos captain Adam Reynolds has confirmed that he has attracted interest from the Wests Tigers as he seeks stability in his career beyond the current season. The 34-year-old halfback’s contract with the Broncos is set to expire, but he has consistently expressed his intention to remain with the club for at least another year.

Despite his desire, the Broncos have yet to finalise a new deal, which has fuelled speculation around a potential move to Concord, especially with the Tigers preparing to part ways with Lachlan Galvin. Speaking on Triple M’s The Rush Hour with Ben Dobbin and Elliott Lovejoy, Reynolds addressed his situation, stating, “Yeah, there’s been interest. I’m trying to secure my future here at the Broncos.”

Reynolds emphasised that Brisbane is home for him and his family, who have settled comfortably in the area. He noted the importance of his family’s happiness in making decisions about his future. Although he wishes to retire with the Broncos, he understands that the club is navigating its salary cap carefully, particularly as they need to address the situation concerning unsigned player Selwyn Cobbo for the upcoming seasons.

He remarked on the complexities and slow nature of negotiations, recognising that the club must consider multiple options to retain a balanced roster. “You can’t make your mind up on the spot; you have to go through all the different scenarios,” he said, illustrating the careful planning involved in contract discussions.

Reynolds joined the Broncos in 2022 after a successful career with South Sydney, where he nearly led his new team to a championship title in 2023. As he continues to weigh his options, the future remains uncertain but he remains committed to the club that has become a significant part of his life.
