Champion racehorse Bella Nipotina has officially retired following an illustrious career on the racetrack. The mare celebrated numerous achievements, among them a victory in last year’s Everest, which is recognised as the richest turf race.

Over her 57 races, Bella Nipotina secured 11 wins, with four of those being at the elite Group 1 level. Her final appearance was at the VRC Champions Sprint held in November, marking the end of a notable racing chapter.

Trainer Ciaron Maher shared the announcement through the stable’s social media, reflecting on Bella’s extraordinary qualities: “A mare with heart, grit and a will to win — Bella has given us memories to last a lifetime.” He expressed his belief that she would have a successful future in the breeding barn, passing on her remarkable traits to her offspring.

Throughout her career, Bella Nipotina garnered nearly $19 million in prize money, signifying not just her talent but also her significant contribution to the sport. Among her many highlights, her win at the Everest alongside jockey Craig Williams particularly stands out, as do her victories in prestigious races like the Doomben 10,000 and the Manikato Stakes.

As she moves into this new phase, Bella Nipotina leaves behind a legacy filled with memorable performances and achievements.
