On March 8, around 1pm, a man was seen conversing with a woman outside a shop on Young Street in Frankston when they were suddenly confronted by another man wielding a metal pole. This assailant struck a 50-year-old man from Sandhurst in the face before continuing on his way towards Park Lane. Notably, the attacker was not known to the victim. Following the incident, the injured man was transported to a hospital where he was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
