A teenager was allegedly involved in a physical confrontation with another boy at around 4pm at the Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre in Hoppers Crossing. The 18-year-old victim sustained serious injuries and was promptly taken to hospital for treatment.

During the incident, shoppers were temporarily placed on lockdown, creating a tense atmosphere. One witness shared their experience on social media, describing it as “one of the most traumatic things” they had ever encountered. The witness expressed disbelief that such a violent occurrence could transpire in a familiar setting, highlighting the unexpected nature of the event.

In connection with the altercation, a 16-year-old boy was apprehended nearby by police. Following his arrest, he underwent questioning and has been charged with multiple offences, including recklessly causing serious injury, possession of a drug of dependence, and possession of a controlled weapon. The young offender has been remanded and is set to appear in a children’s court at a future date.
