Emergency services were called to Digby Drive in the Thompson Bay area of Rottnest Island around 5pm on Tuesday after a woman fell off her bicycle. Upon arrival, they discovered a 38-year-old woman with severe head injuries resulting from the accident.
Reports indicate that while she had a helmet with her, it is uncertain whether she was wearing it at the time of the fall. The victim, originally from overseas, resides in Melbourne and was visiting the island with her partner.
An investigation is ongoing to ascertain the details surrounding the incident.
