Former Australian Test cricketer David Warner has recently been charged with drink driving in Sydney. The incident occurred around 5:30 PM on Sunday, when Warner, 39, reportedly halted his van just prior to a random breath testing site located on Malabar Road in Maroubra, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Upon approaching the vehicle, police officers conducted a breath test, which returned a positive result for alcohol consumption. Following this initial test, Warner was arrested and taken to Maroubra police station for a secondary breath test, where he allegedly recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.104. This level is significantly above the legal limit for driving.
As a result of these findings, Warner was issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice, which requires him to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on May 7. The situation has garnered media attention given Warner’s prominence in the sporting world, highlighting the serious nature of drink driving offences.
