A man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing incident resulting from a neighbourhood dispute in Girraween, south-west Sydney, that has left two individuals in critical condition.
The altercation took place yesterday afternoon around 3:30 pm, involving three men aged 30, 37, and 56, who are believed to be acquainted with one another. According to police reports, exclusive CCTV footage captures a man dressed in black approaching the residence, where he was confronted by the homeowner armed with a chair. This escalated into a violent struggle that moved to the home’s backyard.
During the incident, the 30-year-old and the 56-year-old sustained multiple stab wounds to their torsos. The alleged attacker, aged 37, also suffered injuries to his arms. He was subsequently apprehended by police and transported to hospital under guard.
Residents in the area expressed their shock and distress over the event, with one reporting that children from the scene immediately sought help. Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with one individual on the ground claiming he had been stabbed.
Authorities have established a crime scene and initiated an investigation into the altercation. The 37-year-old suspect was taken into custody at Granville Police Station, where he has been charged with two counts of attempted murder. He has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear in Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
