In a heartbreaking incident in Lynwood, a single-vehicle crash early on a Monday morning led to the death of a baby and serious injuries to two others. The accident occurred around 3:40 AM, as a silver Toyota Kluger was driving along Nicholson Road when it skidded off the rain-soaked road, crashed into a bus stop, and subsequently collided with a tree, according to police reports.
The vehicle carried three passengers: a 32-year-old woman, her seven-month-old baby, and a three-year-old child, all of whom sustained significant injuries from the crash. Witnesses reported that several locals rushed to assist, with some performing CPR on the infant before emergency services arrived.
The mother and the baby were transported to Fiona Stanley Hospital; tragically, the baby did not survive. The three-year-old was also taken to Perth Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. A 35-year-old man, identified as a rideshare driver, received only minor injuries during the incident.
