A serious collision involving a truck and a ute has resulted in injuries to six individuals, with one driver in critical condition. The incident occurred on a 20-kilometre segment of Appin Road, located just south of Sydney, and led to the closure of the road shortly after 4pm.
The ute’s driver, a 30-year-old man, has been transported to Liverpool Hospital where he is reported to be in life-threatening condition. Meanwhile, four other occupants of the ute, which includes a woman in her 30s and three children, have been taken to Campbelltown Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the truck was initially trapped in the wreckage but was subsequently rescued and is being airlifted to Westmead Hospital, also in serious condition. Emergency services, including multiple ambulances and fire trucks, were promptly dispatched to manage the situation.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the crash.
