Flood warnings persist across south-east Queensland and north-east New South Wales, although the situation is gradually improving. Meteorologist Helen Reid from the Bureau of Meteorology noted that many flood alerts were downgraded or lifted overnight.

In Queensland, active warnings still affect areas near Warrill Creek, as well as the Logan, Bremer, and Albert rivers. In New South Wales, flood warnings are in place for the Richmond, Clarence, and Orara rivers. Recent rainfall recorded inland—between 5mm and 15mm, with isolated regions receiving as much as 30mm to 50mm—was noted around Toowoomba in Queensland and Moree in New South Wales.

Thunderstorms are a possibility for the south-western parts of Queensland and north-western New South Wales. Despite the current warnings, Reid emphasised that conditions are set to improve throughout the week along the eastern coastline, although floodwaters may remain elevated for some time. Fortunately, the weekend forecast suggests predominantly dry conditions for many affected regions.

As recovery efforts continue, residents remain vigilant, keeping an eye on official updates regarding flood levels and safety measures.
