NFL player Tyler Manoa was slated to ignite the atmosphere by blowing Canberra’s Viking horn during a pre-game event in Las Vegas, but his efforts were overshadowed by enthusiastic Warriors fans. The game took place at Allegiant Stadium, where a full house gathered to watch the action.
The 25-year-old defensive tackle for the Las Vegas Raiders embraced the moment, proudly donning Raiders gear as he encouraged the crowd to elevate their energy before kick-off. Although this was a momentous occasion for Manoa and his team, the fervent Kiwi fans had different ideas, leading a powerful chant that reverberated throughout the stadium as Manoa attempted to rally the Raiders supporters.
Initially, the club had reached out to UFC president Dana White for a role in the pre-game festivities; however, he was unavailable for the event. There were also whispers of NFL coach Pete Carroll being involved, but that plan didn’t materialise. Ultimately, it was Manoa who stood as the sole representative of American football in this event.
Despite the noise from the Warriors fans, Manoa’s appearance brought a unique blend of NFL spirit to the rugby league spectacle in Las Vegas.
