Christian Horner has reaffirmed that Max Verstappen is “very happy” with Red Bull, despite swirling rumours of a staggering $2 billion offer from Aston Martin. Currently contracted until 2028, Verstappen has been speculated to potentially follow renowned designer Adrian Newey to the British team. The latest wave of speculation was ignited by a report in the Daily Mail that mentioned an extraordinary £1 billion deal.

At the F1 season launch in London, Horner dismissed the claim as part of media hype, noting that such an enormous figure is unlikely. He expressed confidence that Verstappen appreciates the established relationships and supportive environment within the Red Bull team. Horner emphasised the responsibility of Red Bull to provide a competitive car and help Verstappen maintain his stellar performance over the past decade.

When approached about the reported offer, Verstappen found it amusing, acknowledging it was indeed “a lot of money.” He clarified that any contact with Aston Martin was regarding GT3 racing, distinct from Formula 1, and there was no ongoing discussion about a potential F1 move. As the 2025 F1 season nears, with pre-season testing in Bahrain and the opening race in Melbourne, Verstappen remains focused on his ambitions within the Red Bull framework and his new venture in GT3 racing.
