The Gold Coast Suns are currently facing a bizarre situation, having had their Facebook account hacked. The intruders have been posting an array of amusing and random videos, including DIY projects, watermelon cutting, and dancing penguins. Despite the club’s efforts to regain control of their account, the hackers have remained active for over 24 hours.

In a recent post on X, the Suns acknowledged the hacking incident and assured fans that they are working to resolve the issue. They expressed apologies for any inconvenience caused, emphasising that all content shared during this time is unauthorised. Fans have engaged with the unexpected posts, with some videos attracting close to 10,000 views and numerous comments ranging from confusion to amusement. One user remarked, “Surely not again,” while another praised the hackers’ efforts with “Your best one yet.”

Amidst their social media woes, the Suns have also been busy with a rebranding initiative, unveiling a new logo and a pink jumper range just last week. The club is set to kick off their 2025 season against Essendon at People’s First Stadium on March 8, although dealing with a hacked Facebook account likely wasn’t part of their plans. The Suns have committed to keeping fans updated on the situation.
