Police are collaborating with Israeli influencer Max Veifer, who shared alleged antisemitic remarks made by two nurses in Sydney, to ensure that any statement he provides adheres to Australian legal standards. Following the incident, Veifer posted a video expressing gratitude to his supporters and sharing that he had discussed the matter with the New South Wales (NSW) police.
He noted the sensitivity of the ongoing investigation and remained confident in the evidence collected, including an unedited video. Veifer emphasised the need for unity within the Jewish community to promote safety in Australia. This follows a video released last week, where two nurses purportedly made comments about harming Israeli patients.
NSW Police have been investigating the matter but are yet to determine if charges will be filed against the nurses, Ahmad Rashad Nadir and Sarah Abu Lebdeh. They confirmed that the full video was provided to them on Friday and are working with Veifer to prepare a legal statement, acknowledging the complexities of gathering evidence from overseas for admissibility in Australian courts. Detectives are focused on resolving the investigation promptly.
