Authorities were informed yesterday of damage to a marble statue of a soldier located in Walgett Memorial Park on Fox Street. Upon inspection, officers discovered that the statue’s arm had been harmed, and the marble rifle was missing. The damage is believed to have occurred sometime between Monday and Thursday of this week. This memorial statue, a significant piece, was originally imported from France in 1922.
