Five gunshots rang out in Adelaide’s north-west late last night, creating panic among local residents and narrowly missing nearby homes. The incident occurred around 11.30 pm on Hookings Terrace, following a vandalism attempt at a residence in Woodville Gardens. The assailants appeared to be targeting the family’s pet dog, which had chased them away.
The gunfire left visible damage, with bullet holes found in a parked car and a local sporting ground’s public toilet. Residents expressed their fears for safety, particularly with a nearby playground and young families in the area. “It’s pretty scary,” commented local club member Kelso McEwan, while another resident, Nadeem Syed, highlighted concern for his children.
The homeowners reported that three men attempted to break into their property, causing damage before fleeing in a Silver Holden Astra and a black SUV. Police are investigating the case and seeking public assistance to identify the suspects. They have reassured the community that this incident appears to be a targeted attack rather than random violence.
