James Tedesco, former captain of New South Wales, has gracefully responded to missing out on a recent pre-season camp organised by new Blues coach Laurie Daley. The renowned fullback was absent from the gathering of 28 players, where Daley laid out his vision for the upcoming season. Despite Tedesco’s extensive 23-game history with the state and prior captaincy, he was overlooked by former coach Michael Maguire last year, only to be recalled when Dylan Edwards was injured.

Now, Tedesco holds no resentment regarding his exclusion from this camp, expressing his willingness to support the next generation. He stated, “If they need me, I will never say no to NSW,” and praised the previous squad for winning last year’s series. While his focus remains on the Roosters, who face a challenging season after losing key players, he acknowledges the potential of the competition, particularly Brisbane, Penrith, Melbourne, and rivals South Sydney, whom he believes will make a strong push this year.

The Roosters are set to commence their season against the Broncos on March 6, with Tedesco looking forward to the challenges ahead while maintaining a positive outlook on both club and state rugby league.
