Authorities are investigating an incident in Newnham where a boy reportedly ran onto Franmaree Road and was struck by a Gray Suzuki vehicle. The collision took place around 6.40pm, prompting emergency services to quickly arrive at the scene. The boy was initially transported to Launceston General Hospital and subsequently airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital, where he is currently in a critical but stable condition. Police are calling for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the event to step forward and assist with their inquiries.
