Canberra is known for having some of the finest air quality globally, yet the broader Australian Capital Territory (ACT) ranks low overall, only slightly ahead of Western Australia. According to Yuming Guo, the lead scientist of the study, there is a decline in the number of regions with high health index scores. Nevertheless, over 70% of Australians continue to reside in areas that achieve high ratings for air quality and health.
