The owner of a petrol station in Campbelltown, Sydney, expressed her devastation after her recently reopened business was vandalised overnight with racist graffiti. The West Side petrol station was tagged with offensive messages, including “die Aussie dogs” and “I hate Aus […] Lebanon all the way.” In addition, footage revealed a vandal damaging a petrol pump, leading to dangerous fuel leaks. The owner described feeling “heartbroken” and “mortified” by the attack, considering it a cowardly act against their family-run business, especially after enduring a two-year closure due to a prior fire.

Community members rallied around the petrol station, showing support and condemning the vandal. A regular, Geoff Hardcombe, lamented the act of cowardice, highlighting the kindness of the business owners who strive to provide affordable services to the community.

The petrol station has temporarily closed for repairs, and NSW Police are investigating the incident, searching for a suspect described as a man in his 20s or 30s wearing dark clothing and a blue helmet. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward as the investigation continues.
