The 82nd Golden Globes kick off the 2025 awards season this Sunday in Los Angeles, with comedian Nikki Glaser hosting the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The event will commence at 11:00 AM AEDT, preceded by the red carpet at 10:00 AM AEDT. Recognising excellence in film and television, this year’s awards will bestow the Cecil B. DeMille Award on Viola Davis and the Carol Burnett Award on Ted Danson.

Several Australians are among the nominees, with Nicole Kidman competing for best performance in Babygirl, Guy Pearce nominated for best supporting actor in The Brutalist, and Cate Blanchett and Naomi Watts vying for best performance in a limited series with Disclaimer and Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, respectively.

This year features a mix of first-time nominees, including former Nickelodeon and Disney stars Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez, the latter receiving nominations for Emilia Pérez and Only Murders in the Building. The film Emilia Pérez leads with ten nominations overall, followed closely by The Brutalist with seven.

The presenters also promise star power, featuring talents such as Andrew Garfield, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Elton John, making this a much-anticipated event in the entertainment calendar.
