FBI Director Kash Patel expressed his support and stated that agents would be promptly on-site to assist with the ongoing investigation. Patel offered thoughts and prayers for Kirk, his family, and all affected by the incident via a post on X.
Just prior to the shooting, Kirk had shared his enthusiasm about his event, proclaiming Utah Valley University as “FIRED UP and READY” for the American Comeback Tour. As the news broke, Utah Governor Spencer Cox indicated he was receiving updates from law enforcement regarding the incident, asserting that those responsible would face consequences and urging unity across political lines against violence. “Our prayers are with Charlie, his family, and all those affected,” he added.
Donald Trump also took to Truth Social, urging people to pray for Kirk and praising him as a “great guy.” Trump acknowledged Kirk’s significant influence in attracting young voters during the previous presidential election, underscoring the impact of his advocacy work.
