Dylan Brown’s ongoing contract negotiations with the Parramatta Eels have reached an impasse following the club’s refusal to meet his management’s request for a financial incentive to remove a player option clause. The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Brown’s management is seeking to eliminate this clause, which allows him to explore other club offers from next year. Currently contracted until 2031, Brown has the chance to negotiate with other teams until round 10.
Despite his existing contract worth $900,000, Brown’s management is reportedly aiming for a new deal valued at approximately $1.2 million per season. His manager, Chris Orr, has reached out to clubs to advise them of Brown’s availability, indicating a willingness to consider offers.
Eels’ head of football, Mark O’Neill, has expressed a desire to settle the issue before round 10, highlighting the urgency of the situation. Although there have been recent links suggesting Brown might be on the radar of the Sydney Roosters, chairman Nick Politis has since dismissed these claims. The dispute continues to unfold, leaving the future of Brown’s tenure with the Eels uncertain.
