A tragic incident has unfolded in Western New South Wales where a body, believed to be that of a missing 16-year-old boy, was discovered following a search operation. The adolescent went swimming in the Macquarie River near Sandy Beach Road in Dubbo around 5:40 PM yesterday and subsequently vanished. Emergency services, including police, the State Emergency Service (SES), and VRA Rescue NSW, quickly launched an extensive search.

The teenager was last seen wearing blue Adidas shorts, prompting an urgent response from rescuers. Sadly, around 12:30 PM, authorities found a body during their search efforts. Police are currently preparing a report for the coroner to investigate the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death. This incident highlights the inherent dangers of swimming in natural water bodies, underscoring the need for vigilance.
