A tragic incident in the Hunter region of New South Wales has resulted in the death of a 20-year-old woman, allegedly due to domestic violence. A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder following the events that transpired early this morning.
Authorities were alerted to the situation around 4.45 AM after receiving reports of an assault. Upon their arrival at the residence, they found the young woman unresponsive with severe facial injuries. Despite the efforts made by paramedics to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Reports suggest that the man involved had made a call to emergency services, prompting police intervention. Superintendent Wayne Humphrey indicated that the couple had been in a domestic relationship for approximately 12 months.
The accused is now in custody and is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow morning to face the murder charge linked to domestic violence.
