Late last night, at approximately 10:40 pm, emergency services responded to reports of a house fire on Mooranga Road in Mirrabooka, located south of Newcastle. Fire crews quickly arrived on the scene and managed to extinguish the flames; however, the property was unfortunately completely destroyed.
The sole resident, a 32-year-old woman, was able to escape the fire without any injuries. Following the incident, she was apprehended at the site and subsequently charged with damaging property by fire. She has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear in court today.
