The popular British dance show, Strictly Come Dancing, is currently under police investigation due to allegations of drug use involving two unnamed participants. The inquiry began after the BBC initiated its own investigation earlier this month, which has gained significant attention.
Recently, London’s Metropolitan Police released a statement confirming they have "received an allegation about drug related offences" linked to the show, according to reports from BBC News. They are currently reviewing the information to determine whether any criminal activity has occurred.
The police’s involvement follows a report from the Sun on Sunday, which indicated that discussions about the alleged drug use among the show’s stars were prevalent within the production. The BBC has since forwarded this matter to the authorities.
A spokesperson for the police clarified that the allegations were formally reported last Tuesday. However, the BBC has opted not to comment on the ongoing investigation.
Strictly Come Dancing, which pairs celebrities with professional dancers, has enjoyed a massive following since its debut in 2004, attracting millions of viewers.
