A fire, suspected to be the result of a firebombing, has devastated two businesses in Alderley, Brisbane, including the well-loved Brisbean Coffee and the nearby plant shop, I Wet My Plants. The incident occurred just after midnight, attracting firefighters from Queensland Fire and Rescue who worked to contain the blaze. Lachlan Elliot, a spokesperson for the fire service, reported that the fire was brought under control within about 50 minutes.

Local patrons expressed their shock and sadness upon discovering the destruction, particularly the owner of Brisbean Coffee, Andy Ford, who described the impact as catastrophic. The café suffered extensive smoke damage and unfortunately lost a large quantity of coffee beans. Despite this loss, Ford expressed determination to rebuild and reopen as soon as possible.

As investigators sifted through the wreckage, they uncovered evidence suggesting prior suspicious activity at the scene. Surveillance footage revealed individuals loitering and a specific vehicle returning multiple times before the fire broke out. As authorities continue their investigations, the identity of those responsible for this incident remains unknown.
