A man from Ipswich has been charged with various child exploitation offences following an investigation by authorities. The 28-year-old is accused of sending unsolicited sexual messages to multiple victims through social media platforms during July and August this year.

Authorities executed a search warrant at his North Booval residence on Friday, where several digital devices allegedly containing child exploitation material were confiscated. The man faces three charges of stalking, two counts of creating child exploitation material, and one count of possessing such material.

He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Thursday. Investigators suspect there may be additional individuals within the community who have been approached via social media with attempts to obtain inappropriate photographs of children.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have been contacted or who possesses knowledge of similar suspect behaviour to step forward. Ongoing investigations are being carried out into the matter.
