In creating Two Point Museum, the team at Two Point Studios drew from a diverse range of real-life museums, focusing on their structures and inner workings. Creative director Ben Huskins and executive producer Jo Koehler immersed themselves in the intriguing aspects of museum operations, including storage techniques and unique cleaning methods. Their exploration resulted in a whimsical yet authentic approach to museum management, incorporating both the charm of Two Point County’s signature humour and genuine museum quirks.
Koehler highlighted the team’s visits to various museums, where they observed exhibit layouts and the unnoticed details such as staff-only areas. While some of the more eccentric cleaning practices, like using flesh-eating beetles, didn’t make it into the game, these experiences enriched their insights. The research also inspired practical game mechanics, including the design of visitor flow and staff areas.
With a focus on creativity, Two Point Museum aims to enable players to craft personalised layouts, experiment with lighting, and create memorable experiences for virtual guests. As it approaches its release date of March 5, 2025, it promises to celebrate the boundless curiosity and creativity inherent in museums around the globe.
